Auction to Etsy

This crewel work rug is hand embroidered in 100% wool.
All done in soft pastels on a black background, it is stunning.
I bought it at the auction and have listed it for sale in my Etsy store.
I realized a lot of people don't know what Etsy is~so let me explain:
Etsy is an online marketplace or shopping venue.
You go to Etsy.com and then either look around randomly
or plug in what you are looking for in their search box.
The thing that makes Etsy unique is that
everything sold is either vintage or handmade by a seller.
A lot of bloggers have Etsy stores set up on their blogs,
and quite often you will find things that reflect their blog style for sale in their shop,
so next time take a look around your favorite blogger's shop.
I just started going to auctions and have been getting some great things for my store.
A Victorian pitcher in cobalt blue with handpainted details.
Note: This item sold one hour after I listed it! Yay!
The Scales of Justice~what a great gift for the lawyer or policeman in the family.
Vintage brass scale on marble dripping with crystals.
Here is an idea~
Take off the crystal dishes and use it as a jewelry tree
for draping your jewelry on your dresser or vanity.
This was a great find~
a complete collection of antique German canisters.
These ceramic canisters were on the well to do housewife's wish list in the early 1900s.
Its hard to get a complete set,
and you will often see just 3 pieces or so of a set for sale, at hefty prices.
This German set includes the oil and vinegar cruets.
This set has tons of gold work on it!
You won't see flour listed on the large canisters.
They didn't use flour!
There is Barley, Oatmeal, and Rice, as well as Sugar and Coffee.
Well I have always had a thing for these sets,
and this was the second one I found this summer.
This first Bohemian set I found is marked Czecha-slovakia.
I found it at an antique shop in New Hampshire.
It is also a complete set...I think the sets are finding me now.
They are such pretty little containers.
Can't you just imagine the housewife taking
out some pepper to add to her goulash dinner?
Nowadays they make pretty additions to kitchen counter tops and hutches.
Anyhow, I was surprised to find that
my own mom had never visited my Etsy store
because she didn't know what it was~
now for a little self promotion:
I hope you visit my store.
